An empirical approach to the journal "Ansiedady Estrés" (Anxiety and Stress) in its 10 th anniversary

Abstract
Scientific journals define the research front of any academic discipline. A characteristic interaction exists between the level of institutional development and social acceptance, and the number and diversity of journals. This is specially clear in the case of Spanish Psychology. The aim of the present paper is to provide an overall overview about the state-of-the-art on the research of anxiety and stress by reviewing the contents of the articles published in the journal Ansiedad y Estrés . This multidisciplinar and theoretically open-minded publication pretends to spread out papers on anxiety and stress and related issues (v.g. emotions, personality, and health issues). As the Official Journal of the a scientific society, pretends to delimitate or define a field of research and application. In this sense, it provides, by means of bibliometrical techniques, a quite overview of the current, past and future issues in this field that mostly concern to authors and wide research groups, as well as, includes the most current influencing authors, papers, institutions, journals and books in the field. Our results allow to built an overall idea about general trends in the journal Ansiedad y Estrés , and this approach us to our general aim on the knowledge of the state-of-the-art of the research in these outstanding fields.
