| Abstract |
The aim of this study is to validate the abbreviated version of the Questionnaire of Role Stress of Rizzo, House y Lirtzman (1970) in a context of technological innovation. It has been considered four groups of variables on a sample of 272 workers: 1) Role stress (role conflict and role ambiguity), 2) sociodemografic variables, 3) new technologies and 4) mental health. The results obtained by means of statistical analysis with SPSS, do not show any relationship between stress levels and the use of new technologies. However, some relationships have been settled down between role ambiguity and certain sociodemografic variable (age and educational level) and between role stress and mental health. In this case, the results seem to indicate the existence of certain modulator variables as it couldbe the way in which the worker perceives the conflict and the way how he/she solves it, since it could be showing a dynamic adaptation process.
