Fear of flying: Evaluation and outcomes preiction of two therapuetic programs

Author
Abstract
We present the outcomes of two intervention programs: The first is reattributional training based and the second is a mixed exposure procedure applied to fear of flying. These programmes have been applied to 61 patients with flying phobia who were randomly assigned to both treatment groups. 24 persons made up the waiting control group. The therapeutic success has been evaluated by means of self-report scales and by recording pshycophysiological variables in an analogous situation. The results showed that positive and lasting effects were obtained by a longe group of phobic persons. Outcomes prediction shows different profiles for each one of the groups with hopeful results.
