Cognitive–behavioral therapy for post-traumatic stress disorder

Abstract
This paper deals with a review of the literature on cognitive-behavioral treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder. Addresses 2 issues: different types of victims (rape victims as well as victims of natural disasters and motor vehicle accidents) and different sets of treatments (exposure based procedures, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, and anxiety management techniques). The relevance of this review for clinical practice and future research in this field is commented upon.
