Anxiety disorders in childhood and adolescence: Risk factors

Autor
Resumen
Risk factors of anxiety disorders were studied in a sample of 197 children and adolescents 6 to 17 years old. Through several logistic regression models we obtained that parent’s psychopathology and history of psychopathology in the family, educational style, temperament of the child, early developmental problems and socioeconomic status were significantly related with the presence of anxiety disorders in the child. It is necessary to consider the confluence and the connection among multiple risk factors in order to understand the genesis of these disorders.
