Autor
Resumen
Emotional Intelligence (EI) is a concept that has aroused great interest among scientists from different psychological areas in the last years. The main objective of this paper was to review the scientific literature on EI in the mental health field published so far. Firstly, a literature review on EI and well-being is presented; secondly, we analyze how EI is related to psychological adjustment variables; and, finally, the studies carried out in the field of clinical psychopathology are summarized. The results of previous studies lead us to contemplate EI as a clinical variable involved in the health-disease process.
