Abstract |
Lack of awareness of deficits – specially cognitive and emotional- that frequently present people after brain injury establishes a fundamental variable in the design of evaluation and neuropsychological rehabilitation strategies. The present paper offers an operative definition of this concept, reveals the limitations of using selfreports in that population, analyzes the complex relationship between cognitive and emotional deficits after a brain damage and, mainly, emphasizes the consequences of unawareness of limitations in both, neuropsychological rehabilitation process and the subsequent social and labour integration of these persons.
