The study of anger in cardiovascular disorders by means of the State–Trait Anger Expression Inventory—STAXI

In this paper the terms of anger, hostility and aggression, their relationship between them and influence on cardiovascular disorders are revised. As well, the Spanish version of the State-Trait Anger Expression Inventory -STAXI- (Spielberger 1988, 1991), labelled Inventario de Expresión de Ira Estado-Rasgo, is described. Finally, results of two different studies are presented: first one carried out with hypertensive patients and second with myocardial infarction patients. There were significant higher scores in anger- in both for hypertensives and myocardial infarction patients as compared as their control groups.
