Resumen
One of the most relevant theories of pain was provided by Melzack and Casey (1968), who adopted and extended the concept of pain as a multidimensional experience. According to this model, sensory, cognitive and affective factors are the main components of pain, they are closely related, and these three processes shape the global experience of pain. In this work, we analyze the principal attributes of emotional dimension of pain, and we describe some of therapeutic applications related with affective component of pain .
