Resumen
The aim of the present paper is to deal with the possible relationship between suggestibility, imagery, and anxiety responses. A group of high and low suggestible female subjects were exposed individually to the following experimental conditions: (a) threatening anxiety-imagining situation induced by the experimenter; (b) threatening anxiety-imagining situation selected by the subject; (c) test anxiety-imagining situation induced by the experimenter; and (d) test anxiety-imagining situation selected by the subject. show that high suggestible subjects manifested significant higher selfreport scores of reality and emotional involvement in imagination than lows for all conditions. Furthermore, high suggestible subjects also scored significantly higher in state anxiety measures than lows before they were exposed to experimental conditions. The moderating role of the level of suggestibility in experiencing anxiety is discussed in detail
