With the first procedures arose the first problems. A new procedure, the eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) seemed to be the solution to such troubles. But the initial enthusiasm was followed by several new questions which darkened again the picture.. In this study, the EMDR procedure is first described. Then some considerations proposed up to date, about EMDR are presented.
