  abstract = {Health professionals have been particularly sensitive to work related stress. Among other reasons, due to the characteristics of their own work. The aim of this paper is to show the results of a survey concerning the evaluation of the variables which take place in occupational stress of health professionals. This instrument was completed by 97 professionals working at a health centre exclusively focused on geriatric population. The limitations of this survey allow us for an tentative results only; however, variables as the obligations of the post, the nature of the job itself, overworking or other factors related to the direct contact with patients and their relatives, show to be highly relevant in diagnosing the level of stress in health workers. The extension of this survey and its generalization to other health centres will result in more precise variables for the future planning of prevention programmes which may reduce the negative consequences of stress on the health of this working sector},
