To gather an adequate sample, we contacted people with a fibromyalgia diagnosis via the Internet (n =154). We measured reliability using Cronbach s alfa, explanatory and confirmatory factor analyses and correlation among optimism, stress and negative affect. Results showed adequate psychometric properties of the LOT-R; a Cronbach s alfa of .81, evidence of a second order-factor model with an adequate goodness-of-fit, and negative and significant correlations with stress and negative affect.
