The sample was composed of 300 women, 150 with breast cancer and 150 without cancer. We used the (Trait scale of the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory), the Resilience Scale (RS) and the Trait Meta-Mood Scale-24. Results show that both state anxiety and resilience arc higher in the group of women with breast cancer and the components of perceived emotional intelligence indicate a significant and negative relationship with trait anxiety. We consider appropriate that health care and psychosocial programs provided to patients with breast cancer address psychological aspects such as resilience and perceived emotional intelligence.
