The study involved 518 participants aged 18 to 34 years (M=20.50, SD=1.96), who completed this inventory together with measures of symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression and self-esteem. The results of confirmatory factor analyses supported a structure of 14 factors. The inventory showed good internal consistency and its scores were associated with self-esteem. Several of its scales were significantly associated with fewer symptoms of PTSD and depression. Although gender differences were found for some factors, none was found for the total resilience scores. This study provides findings that suggest that IFRA is a reliable and valid inventory for measuring resilience.
