Neuroendocrine responses, especially from adrenal-medullary and hypothalamicpituitary- adrenocortical axes are considered important mediators of the stress-health relations. Also, behavioral and psychological mechanisms have an important mediating role. The study of several particular work stressors and pychophysiological measures have suministered knowledge about more specific relationships between work aspects (effort, control...) with psychobiological patterns of response.
