Neuroendocrine responses, especially from adrenal-medullary and hypothalamicpituitary- adrenocortical axes are considered important mediators of the stress-health relations. Also, behavioral and psychological mechanisms have an important mediating role. The study of several particular work stressors and pychophysiological measures have suministered knowledge about more specific relationships between work aspects (effort, control...) with psychobiological patterns of response. The experience of work stress has important consequences on systems that mediate the psychophysiological disorders and influences the immune system which is currently of research interest. a1134-7937 a2174-0437
