Sánchez-Lozano00aJournals and fields definition: the case of the Journal "Ansiedad y Estrés" a5-230 v53 aThe aim of the present paper is to provide an overall overview about the state-of-the-art on the research of anxiety and stress by reviewing the most outstanding literature published. Especially, the contents of the articles published in the five-years-old journal "Ansiedad y Estrés" are analysed in detail. This multidisciplinar and theoretically open-minded publication represents a generalized phenomenon in the current Spanish Psychology called "over-specialization", which pretends to spread out papers on anxiety and stress and related issues (v.g. emotions, personality, and health issues). As the Official Journal of the a scientific society, pretends to delimitate or define a field of research and application. In this sense, it provides, by means of bibliometrical techniques, a quite overview of the current, past and future issues in this field that mostly concern to authors and wide research groups, as well as, includes the most current influencing authors, papers, journals and books in the field. Our results allow to built an overall idea about editorial policy and general trends in the journal "Ansiedad y Estrés", and this approach us to our general aim on the knowledge of the state-of-the-art of the research in these outstanding fields. a1134-7937 a2174-0437
