This study is aimed at analyzing the association between both constructs based on the methodology of structural equations. 140 people age 16 to 62 participated in the Wong-Law Emotional Intelligence Scale and the Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS) survey. The survey showed a good structural validity of the instruments and suitable reliability instruments (>.70). The use of emotions construct was only the most influential in SWLS (variance explained=12%); sex and age had trivial influence. The consequences of the results are discussed. a1134-7937
